AEG staff provided professional design and technical management services for ORD LLC O’Hare Runway Designers, JV on Chicago Department of Aviation’s O’Hare Modernization Program. Provided engineering design services for the final design and construction package for the OMP’s Taxiway K & L (original TW45-46) located at original 10L Pad adjacent to existing Runway 14R-32L and ARFF Access Road. Project pavement bid specifications required the use of recycled roof shingles in the warm-mix asphalt for sub-layers; first project certified by the FAA to use the environmentally-conscious asphalt blend. Staff key responsibilities as Runway Designer/ Technical Manager included: responsible for the design of Taxiway K & L earthwork, earthwork management, by stage grading, pavements, geometrics, drainage grading and coordination, utilities grading and coordination.
