AEG Staff provided design services for the Chicago Department of Aviation’s O’Hare Modernization Taxiway ZC. Design and construction phase engineering services were provided for Taxiway ZC, South Cargo Access Road and FedEx Access Road, a Federal Aviation Administration ALSF (Approach Lighting System with Sequenced Flashing Lights) access road, and an airport perimeter road. Taxiway ZC was part of the primary access route for aircraft taxiing between the terminal and the new southern Runway 10R-28L. The taxiway lighting included LED medium-intensity edge lighting (MITL), in-pavement lighting, and guidance signage and taxiway pavement surface sensors. AEG staff was part of an engineering team which prepared the final design package for the OMP’s Taxiway ZC and South Access Road. This project also included approximately 2,000 LF of ComEd electrical duct bank and associated infrastructure.
